Navy Day 2021 : A New Beginning

December 4th, 2021 marks the #SwarnimVijayVarsh of the first daring missile attack on Karachi harbour by #IndianNavy amidst the 1971 operations. The Indian Navy continues to be an instrument of national significance at the global stage. The past two years have seen another battle that India & Indian Navy waged against COVID-19. The power of maritime capacity building as the engine to navigate forward portrays India as a strong & reliable player, especially with the commissioning of two naval combatants in November 2021. Our potential to grow and lead is being seen through a drive towards self-reliance and a synergistic strategy in providing security & protecting the freedom of the seas.

Capacity development came to the fore with Indigenous Aircraft Carrier (IAC) Vikrant sailing from Kochi for two sea trials by October 2021. The progress of #IACVikrant in India’s quest for Atmanirbhar Bharat brings a cheerful hope in the forthcoming commissioning and re-birth of INS Vikrant. That will be a great commemoration in the #AzaadikaAmritMahotsav Varsh. Quick assistance by Indian Navy teams were a hallmark of national response during the pandemic, floods or any scenario that needed mitigation of disaster and a humane response. Truly the theme “Indian Navy – Combat Ready, Credible and Cohesive", shows where India is and where it is leading towards!

This #NavyDay2021 is unique as it brings for the first time ever, new skippers at the helm in each of the two operational commands and at the training command. The new beginning that this change ushers, was capped by the new Navy Chief Adm R Hari Kumar in his maiden press conference when he said, "I would like to assure the nation that the Indian Navy stands ready to deal with any security challenge." That is the voice of a resurgent new India and instills the instrument of good hope for the Indian Navy.

With this we at Johnson Odakkal Initiatives would like to join the nation to wish Indian Navy, fair winds and following seas and a surge to its new future!
